Under the Apple Tree

Usually rural in subject, most of my paintings reveal an appreciation for the beauty of nature. A landscape barely touched by man indicates our interaction and stewardship of Mother earth.
I am often fascinated by the way that a building, left to the will of nature and not tended to by humans, takes on a character that blends and returns to the earth’s elements. The rainbow of colors that appears in a patina of a steel door, aged wooden siding, or tin roof, can all provide inspiration. (See "Barns & Buildings')
